Under the loving care of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, Ronnie was sent to San Juan, Puerto Rico to plant the PCA’s first church on the island. Since 2010, he has planted a second church and architected a Church Planter Internship aimed at identifying, equipping, and deploying Spanish speaking church planters and teams all over the island.
HLI began sponsoring leadership retreats in the fall of 2012 as a way of bringing together those within the PCA that were involved in ministry with Hispanics. In the years since, our retreats have become a semi-annual event, taking place in odd years, with our Vivo conferences in even years.
But our retreats are not limited to just Hispanics. Over the years, an increasingly ethically-diverse group has attended, allowing for a healthy interaction and an increasing cultural awareness by all.
"Vivo" means "alive" in Spanish, and our Vivo conferences come alive by providing an up-to-date, real-world focus on today's movement to prepare Hispanic leaders for Christ's church. Vivo conferences bring together many who are involved in ministering with Hispanics, and those who desire to find out more, from both the PCA and other denominations.
Plan now to join with us in October, 2018, for Vivo 2018!
